This part time, Dublin-based position will suit qualified individuals seeking a dynamic and challenging role in international education. The successful candidate will join the small Arcadia University, College of Global Studies Dublin-based team in supporting and delivering Arcadia University study abroad programmes in Ireland for US university students.

The Programme Officer’s primary roles are student engagement and administration. The position requires travel throughout Ireland in support of Arcadia students studying on Irish university campuses with a focus on student events and cultural trips balanced alongside administrative responsibilities at the Dublin Centre. The use of social media and blogging will be central to maintaining student contact, informing students of events and relaying information.

This position is based in Dublin, involves some travel within Ireland and entails evening and weekend work.

UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA EDUCATION PROGRAM ABROAD-PROGRAMME OFFICER

The Programme Officer, to be hired by the University College Dublin and seconded to UCEAP, provides a wide range of academic and student services in support of UCEAP’s international academic exchange programs Ireland. Under the direction of the UK/Ireland Resident Director, incumbent serves as the first point of contact for general student inquiries and as the primary academic and student services advisor for assigned programs (ensuring that students adhere to both UC and partner academic program requirements). The Programme Officer is responsible for communicating with students, host institutions, and the central UCEAP office on program administration, policies and procedures, requirements and student welfare related issues; plans and implements student events and orientations.

The role:

This is a part-time, fixed-term and live-in position. RAs live in shared apartments at our Highfield House student residence (‘the Res’). The RA will share their apartment with fellow staff members and non-programme residents (usually mature and/or post-graduate student residents). Each resident will have their own bedroom and en-suite bathroom.

The primary function of the RA is to build and nurture a sense of community amongst the Big Pond student community. This involves work both inside and outside the residence hall. Given the nature of the position and work it is difficult to define exact working hours of each week. There is a loose expectation that each RA will work for 20 hours a week, although this may be more during busy periods and far less during quieter periods. The beginning and end of each semester tend to be the busier times.
