PERSON SPECIFICATION
The position requires:
1. Experience working with local and international students
2. High level of flexibility and willingness to work outside of regular office hours;
3. Some knowledge of Irish higher education;
4. Knowledge of Ireland and its regional places of interest;
5. IT skills including MS Office;
6. Familiarity with/active use of social media including Instagram, blogging, Twitter and Facebook;
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including group leadership;
8. Excellent organisation and time management skills;
9. Permission to work in the Republic of Ireland;
Desirable additional factors include:
1. Experience of living overseas
2. Experience in leading outdoor activities
3. Salesforce CRM experience
DIMENSION
This temporary part-time position is based in Dublin. This position will report to the Resident Director at Arcadia University in Ireland. The position will be done as a contract from December 2021 until May 2022. The position will need to become familiar with regulations and procedures of The College of Global Studies at Arcadia University as well as Irish university resources and support services.
JOB DUTIES:
Student Life and Support (50%)
Shared duties with the Dublin based staff include communications with students, presentations at orientations, airport pickups, the incumbent will perform specific tasks such as:
1. Foster a sense of community among the students in the Dublin region and all among students participating in co-curricular activities.
2. Attend orientations in Dublin
3. Attend and participate in extra and co-curricular events with students;
4. Facilitate student accommodation move ins
5. Preparing student information packs to facilitate student adjustment
6. Administrative support for custom and internship programmes;
Office Administration (25%)
1. Assist and support keeping of student records;
2. Ordering office supplies and stationary;-
3. Assist with bookings;
4. Printing and assembling orientation materials;
5. Reception coverage;
6. Plan and attend centre based events
7. Other duties as required by the Resident Director
Social Media (25%)
1. Draft weekly blog entries and coordinate social media submissions from staff and students
2. Setup and provide content for Arcadia’s social media pages
3. Run student competitions
