Responsibilities:
• Coordinate all aspects of student well-being; provide welfare and support to students by monitoring, mentoring and promoting student health and safety and direct students to professional help if required.
• Find, inspect and manage all IES housing to ensure compliance
• Compile, prepare and present at IES orientation
• Coordinate IES CORE (Comprehensive Orientation and Re-Entry) programme
• Develop, organise and participate in the IES Dublin weekend field trips (one or two per term) and student activities programme
• Conduct and be informed of IES emergency protocols
• Participate on all Student Affairs Coordinator training
• Help with the management of the IES centre building, to ensure student and staff welfare
• Coordinate and participate on the IES Dublin 24/7 emergency phone rotation and respond to student emergencies using established protocols
• General administrative tasks – such as ordering supplies, answering phones
• Report to IES Centre Director and IES Chicago on any issues which may need to be addressed following student safety/disciplinary issue
• Arrange visit to GNIB • Organise and attend student events, sometime out of standard office hours Key
Requirements:
• Two years’ experience of working within higher education sector
• Bachelors degree required, Masters degree preferred
• International experience (working, living or studying abroad)
• Ability to create and maintain positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders including colleagues, students, parents and partners.
• Excellent organisation and communication skills
• Flexibility; ability to work independently and eager to work in a team environment
• Empathy, good listening and mediation skills and sense of humour are essential
• This is a student facing role that requires working in an office with occasional out of office hours responsibilities
Salary package: €28,000-€32,000 per annum
