Requirements of the role:

The role calls for an innovative, versatile, student-engagement-centered, creative higher education professional who will bring passion and expertise to this pivotal strategic leadership role. Successful candidates should be able to demonstrate the following qualifications and experience:

Essential

● The right to work in the Republic of Ireland

● Master’s Degree

● Significant professional experience in higher education with a focus on innovative student

engagement encompassing both community building, pastoral support and academic advising

● Demonstrated ability to create and deliver a culture and program of student engagement that

results in high student satisfaction and learning

● Significant senior academic administrative experience in international education including:

program design and development, strategic planning, budgeting and operations.

● Demonstrated record of entrepreneurial engagement and development of innovative revenue-generating initiatives

● Proven team management and team building experience including staff hiring, training and development

Desired

● 8 years professional experience in Higher Education

● Knowledge of the education abroad field, its professional associations, trends and research

● Demonstrated success with continuous improvement, including understanding of change management principles, tools and techniques

● Experience developing and implementing plans to manage change and evaluating the success of change efforts

● Proven experience in building and maintaining positive business partnerships, including negotiating mutually beneficial business terms and exploring synergistic joint ventures

● The ability to build strong ties in the local community to create a network of internship partners

● A demonstrated willingness to embrace the principles of Inclusive Excellence.

● Ability to maintain a high degree of professionalism and integrity, as well as a demonstrated capacity to build meaningful rapport and demonstrate empathy.

● Ability to work in an innovative, dynamic, fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment that requires multi-tasking and workload prioritisation

● Skilled at working in an environment that requires significant collaboration, collegiality and professionalism

● Proven ability to establish a meaningful rapport and appropriate mentoring/advising relationship with college-age students.

Conditions:

The Director is expected to work occasional evenings, weekends and holidays as programs and events require. Working across timezones will occasionally require early morning or evening meetings as well. The Director is expected to be on call after hours for all serious emergencies and for standard emergencies which cannot be handled by the after-hours on-call staff. They may also be expected to travel within the region or to the U.S. on occasion for risk assessment, management of serious student issues, program development and planning, and staff training. The normal place of work will be the Arcadia Dublin Centre but hybrid working arrangements are currently operated in the Dublin Centre as business needs allow.
