ASAPI Response to QQI White Paper on the International Education Mark

ASAPI has submitted a response to the QQI White Paper on the Policy on Authorisation to use the International Education Mark.

ASAPI outlined a number of areas of concern to the study abroad sector in Ireland including calling for clarification regarding the potential use of the IEM as a reference for immigration decisions, the lack of detailed information on the Code of Practice (only one of five components has been made available), including financial and tax compliance elements.

QQI Publishes White Paper on the International Education Mark

Quality and Qualifications Ireland have published a white paper on the development and implementation of the International Education Mark (IEM). The white paper can be downloaded from QQI's website.

ASAPI will be submitting feedback on the draft policy to QQI. The white paper does not clarify whether many study abroad providers in Ireland will have access to seek the IEM; this is of particular concern as the IEM may become a de facto immigration requirement.
